![]() Jeanne D'arc: It utterly butchers the historical aspect, but the battles are pretty easy, and the controls are pretty tight. Star Ocean and the Tales of games are also easy, but they're pretty bad. A lot of people prefer 2, but I like Suikoden 1 a little better. There are lots of little sub-plots and character stories that unfold over multiple games and they're fun to follow. My favorite thing about them is that although they have different individual stories with each game, they all take place in the same world and share continuity. They have neat stories about overthrowing corrupt empires and have a lot of interesting and likable characters. They're both turn-based RPGs where you play as the leader of an army and have to build a castle and recruit 108 characters. ![]() The combat is very easy but the world is really fun to explore and it has a billion cool ideas. Not sure if you're familiar with the SaGa series, but it's basically a SaGa game in everything but name. You get these items you can place on the world map that add areas to the game the way you place them next to each other influences their content. It's an open world, non-linear action RPG about exploring, making choices and permanently changing the world. The Legend of Mana suggestion was also very good. It's really bizarre and it wasn't my thing, but I can see how people think it's charming and you might like it. ![]() It's this turn-based musical RPG - as in the characters take intermissions to sing these Disney songs.
